... more powerful and improved in every way

With the launch of the 2022 version, the Panigale V4 project has taken the most important evolutionary step since its launch. It becomes faster on the track and more intuitive, making it easier for various sports riders. The Panigale series is the biggest embodiment from racing. The world and mass-produced bicycles are constantly exchanging information and technology, and with the continuous development of the latest version, it continues to develop year after year, just like the Ducati Corse prototype. The new Panigale V4 2022 has been improved in all areas: aerodynamics Science, ergonomics, engine, chassis and electronic equipment in the fifth episode of Ducati’s world premiere in 2022, the Borgo Panigale-based motorcycle manufacturer showed it to all car fans and motorcycle enthusiasts in the world Panigale V4 2022 (here is a direct link to the video). Panigale V4 2022 represents the last step on the road of the Borgo Panigale sports bike. It combines the long-term experience of Ducati Corse with continuous knowledge and technology sharing from the racing world directly to mass-produced bicycles. This new project expresses the uniqueness of a brand that can win the MotoGP Team Championship for the second time in a row. It ensures that every element designed for the race can be transferred to a motorcycle built for enthusiasts. This is why Panigale V4 is constantly updated and improved, just like what happened in MotoGP and WorldSBK. With the introduction of the 2022 version, the Panigale V4 project has completed the most important evolution since its birth. Improvements involve all areas: aerodynamics, ergonomics, engines, chassis and electronic equipment. The result is that the bikes on the track are faster and at the same time more intuitive and easier for the majority of riders. In short, it provides great and rewarding excitement for professional riders and amateurs. These exclusive features have been confirmed by special tests conducted on the Vallelunga circuit in Italy. The Panigale V4 S 2021 and 2022 versions equipped with Pirelli SC1 tires took to the center of the stage, attended by two testers and professional driver Michele Pirro (official Ducati tester). At the end of the day, it turned out that the first tester increased his best lap time on the new Panigale V4 S 2022 by 0.9 seconds, the second by 1.2 seconds, and Michele Pirro (Michele Pirro) The speed increased by half a second, finishing the race in only three seconds. His best time in the first race of Vallelunga, on the occasion of this year's Italian Superbike Championship, however, he relied on the best performing SCX compound in the race. The first new feature of the new Panigale V4 2022 version is related to aerodynamics. Ducati engineers actually focused their hard work on the fairing, which now integrates a more compact and thinner dual-profile design wing, which improves efficiency: this update guarantees the same vertical load at 300 kilometers Up to 37 kg per hour. In addition, the lower part of the fairing has a redesigned exhaust socket to improve the cooling system, thereby improving the performance of the engine, especially on track days. Ergonomics has also been the core focus of in-depth development, aimed at improving the control of the bike during the track and allowing riders to take full advantage of the Panigale V4's performance track during single laps and heavy use. The seat can now rely on a flatter shape and different coatings to further support the rider during braking and make the body easier to move. Compared with the 2021 version, the rear of the fuel tank has a new shape that allows the rider to be better anchored when braking, allowing him to ride faster and farther. Thanks to this new ergonomic design, the rider is also fully integrated into the bicycle, so it is generally more comfortable when riding; even when the arm is suspended, the contact area of the arm, that is, when completely tilted out of the curve, has also been enhanced . The heart of the bicycle is derived from the 1,103 cm3 Desmosedici Stradale MotoGP and has undergone a series of updates. Desmosedici Stradale has completed further evolution for 2022, thanks to the introduction of some dedicated technical elements that can increase power and provide instant throttle response. The new engine has been updated in the lubrication circuit and connected to a new oil pump to reduce power absorption. The increase in the diameter of the muffler outlet can reduce the exhaust back pressure, thereby improving engine performance. Thanks to these interventions and the new dedicated mapping, Desmosedici Stradale-Euro 5* compliant-can deliver 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm, an increase of 1.5 hp compared to the previous version, and an increase of 2.5 hp from the maximum peak power It is 14,500 rpm. The engine also provides 123.6 Nm (12.6 kgm) of torque at 9,500 rpm, and starting at 6,000 rpm, it already provides 80% of the maximum torque available. One detail illustrates the evolutionary characteristics of this new engine in 2022, namely the use of a new gearbox, which can extend the transmission ratios of the first, second and sixth gears. This new SBK transmission ratio is therefore more "racing-oriented" and more suitable for use on the track. The first gear has been lengthened by 11.6%, while the second gear has been lengthened by 5.6%. Thanks to this new gearbox, it is now easier to handle the tightest turns in first gear, enjoying better engine braking and better acceleration when exiting corners. In addition, the smaller speed jump between the first two ratios allows the newly calibrated DQS to work more efficiently and provide better performance. Finally, the sixth gear has been lengthened by 1.8%, and combined with the increase in engine power, the top speed is 5 km/h higher than the Panigale V4 2021. Panigale V4 2022 implements new power mode logic, providing 4 engine configurations: full, high, medium, and low. The Full and Low configurations are newly designed, and the High and Medium configurations use a new strategy. The full power mode is the most sporty mode in Panigale V4's history, allowing the engine to express its full potential through the torque curve, without the need for electronic filters, except for the first gear. A new wiring diagram management system has been developed for high power and medium power modes; it is now dedicated to each of the six gears, which guarantees the possibility that the rider will always have the best thrust when opening the throttle. On the other hand, the low-power mode is designed to make road riding more enjoyable, limiting the maximum power of the bicycle to 150 horsepower, and providing a particularly easy-to-control throttle response. Thanks to the racing exhaust system included in the Ducati Performance Catalog, the performance of the Desmosedici Stradale can be further improved. In order to give everyone the opportunity to use a complete racing exhaust system on tracks with stricter noise limits, we provide a brand new exhaust system made entirely of titanium, developed in cooperation with Akrapovič, with a noise limit of 105 dB (102 dB) installed within a decibel meter). The new exhaust is equipped with a high muffler at the rear to ensure a power increase of 12.5 horsepower, making the maximum value reach 228 horsepower, while the maximum torque value rises to 131 Nm, and the overall weight is reduced by 5 kg. This new exhaust is added to the more compact full racing version already in the catalog. This version extends below the engine and is also made entirely of Akrapovič titanium. At the same performance level, the weight is reduced by 6 kg. , The noise level is 109 dB. After installing the dB-killer, it drops to 107 dB. Desmosedici Stradale is also a structural element of the chassis, directly connected to the aluminum front frame. The chassis consists of a lightweight front frame made of magnesium and a seatpost made of cast aluminum. The new Panigale V4 S is equipped with the new Öhlins NPX 25/30 electronically controlled pressurized front fork. This fork uses a pressurized barrel damping system derived from Öhlins racing forks. Compared with traditional models, it reduces the risk of oil and gas corrosion. Minimize. The result is improved braking support and better absorption of bumps, which gives the rider a better riding feel. The new front fork has a stroke of 125 mm (compared to the front fork equipped with Panigale V4 2021, 5 mm), so it can not only adopt a softer setting, but also improve the smoothness of the response even on the rugged tarmac. Grip in critical conditions, but it can also provide racing advantages, increasing the feel in the most demanding braking parts. The new front fork is combined with the Öhlins TTX36 rear shock absorber and Öhlins steering damper, both of which have an event-based control system. The system provides the rider with the opportunity to customize the suspension intervention according to different riding conditions (braking, turning, acceleration) and changing the operating parameters of the hardware components. For the rider, this means a higher level of control over the bike’s dynamics, which is conducive to road safety and lap time on the track. In addition, the pivot position of the single-sided aluminum rear swing arm is 4 mm higher than the 2021 bicycle version. This specific technical choice increases the anti-back squat effect, that is, reduces the lowering of the rear and stabilizes the acceleration of the bicycle. Panigale V4 S is equipped with 3-spoke forged aluminum alloy wheels and Pirelli Diablo™ Supercorsa SP tires (120/70 ZR17 for front wheels and 200/60 ZR 17 for rear wheels). The brake system is equipped with Brembo Stylema® monobloc calipers at the front, four 30 mm diameter pistons, each piston working on a 330 mm diameter brake disc to ensure excellent braking power, and at the rear, one with 2 245 mm brake discs with piston calipers. Even the Panigale V4 standard version is equipped with the most advanced chassis, including: 43 mm fully adjustable Showa large piston fork (BPF), Sachs steering damper, Sachs monoshock are also fully adjustable, cast aluminum rims with 5- Spoke design. Panigale V4 2022 is equipped with the latest generation of electronic packaging based on the use of a 6-axis inertial platform, which can instantly detect the roll, yaw and pitch angle of the motorcycle in space. The electronic kit includes controls for managing all riding stages, and its operating parameters are connected to the available 4 riding modes (Race A, Race B, Sport, Street) by default. These parameters can be viewed more effectively thanks to an improved dashboard, which has a new distribution of external light functions. But that's not all. Ducati technicians introduced an additional information mode, keeping in mind the suggestions of MotoGP drivers during development, and named it "Track Evo", which is an option added to existing road and track settings. In the "Track Evo" screen, the tachometer moves on the horizontal scale located in the highest part of the meter, which is the most obvious, and the indication of gear meshing is located in the center of the screen. There are four sectors of different colors in the right area, and each sector is dedicated to electronic control (DTC, DWC, DSC, EBC). When the electronic device processes a parameter, these sectors will light up individually and stay on for the time required for the rider to recognize which indicator is activated. This signaling mode helps the user understand the control tasks that actually work, allowing him to more accurately and punctually intervene in the selection of the best level and obtain better performance faster. The sector on the left uses a stopwatch to complete the information, the number of laps completed and the speed. In order to make the shift instructions clearer, a green LED has been introduced on the left side of the instrument panel. This solution makes everything in the feedback more visible and precise. Even the appearance of the bicycle has been modified to be more aggressive. The unprecedented graphic design conceived by Ducati Centro Stile includes the black applied to the logo on the all-red fairing, the double fabric saddle (there are two colors on the S version), and also for the S version, the logo on the fairing Black rims with red label. Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S will be available in the classic "Ducati Red" color in December 2021. Panigale V4 can be equipped with accessories included in the Ducati Performance catalog. It includes certified components and pure racing elements designed for track drivers. Ducati Performance accessories can be viewed through the online configurator on Ducati.com. In addition to a wide range of accessories, Ducati also provides leather suits (airbag systems are also available), helmets, boots and gloves, all of which are for the safety of the rider. To be precise, Ducati meets the needs of all motorcyclists, from sports riding on the track to road adventures wearing perfect equipment as the official Ducati driver. #PanigaleV4 #TheEvolutionOfSpeed * Bike specifications and dealer availability may vary from market to market. -Alan Jones, Ducati photo
