Foseco showcases new die casting technology on EUROGUSS
Grenzebach will participate in the EUROGUSS international trade fair in Nuremberg in 2022. From January 18th to 20th, 2022, Grenzebach experts will guide visitors to learn about the extensive solutions provided by automation experts for optimizing casting processing and friction stir welding technology. Samples from the friction stir welding and foundry industries give you an in-depth understanding of the company's technical know-how.
Friction stir welding (abbreviated: FSW) uses friction, pressure, and heat to stir metals at the weld, instead of melting them. This innovative welding process is centered on a rotating tool that joins metals gently and without emissions. The weld is heated but the joint is still in a solid state, making the process safe and media and pressure sealed. Durable welds have high, repeatable weld strength and high-quality surfaces. This makes friction stir welding an ideal welding process for hybrid joints, such as aluminum plates or die-cast aluminum extrusion profiles.
"Whether it is aluminum, iron or steel castings, there should be no pores, cracks or cavities in modern production. Quality must be guaranteed even at the highest throughput," said Alfred Schlosser, senior vice president of Grenzebach Casting and FSW. Grenzebach knows this very well during the casting process. After all, the company produces and processes more than 14,000 tons of castings each year.
For more than 20 years, Grenzebach has been a partner for the efficient manufacturing and processing of high-quality castings in the automation industry. Castings are used in industrial robots, construction machinery and agricultural technology.
Optimized processing of high pressure die castings
Customers can rely on the years of experience and expertise of casting experts. Define the performance and form of the product together with the customer, and then make it in China. "Within a few months, we prepared a series of personalized and optimized products for our customers," Schlosser said. To achieve this goal, Grenzebach cooperates with many Chinese foundries, so various casting processes such as sand, pressure, precision and permanent casting can be used.
The castings are processed in accordance with European and international quality requirements. According to customer requirements, casting and automation experts take over all steps of the entire process, from milling, turning and drilling to logistics. The company has never stood still: Grenzebach has always cooperated with universities and professional circles to further develop casting processes and products in terms of efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
